One of the Seven Wonders of the World, Chichen Itza is the most impressive Mayan Ruins site close enough to visit in a day from Cozumel, and perhaps in the entire Yucatan area of Mexico. It is well restored and spectacular, with expert archaeological guides that can really take you into the amazing history and prowess of the Mayan Empire.
You'll travel non-stop to Chichen Itza from Playa del Carmen, about a 2.5 hour drive, or if you prefer we can stop on the way at Valladolid, a Mayan pueblo, where you can use the facilities and explore a bit. Once at the ruins, you can hire a guide, or explore on your own. You can also walk over to the town of Chichen Itza and have lunch, or stay and see the Light & Sound show which starts at about 7:00 PM. If you like, we can also visit Merida, a cenote such as Ik Kil, or even see the Ek Balam Mayan Ruins, if you have time. An awesome way to see Chichen Itza!

A private guide can be hired at the ruins entrance gate for 1,200 Pesos (Approx. $71.00 USD) this fee is for a group of 8 People.

This fee is for your whole group to have your
own private guide for a 2-hour tour. You also
have the option of just exploring on your own
without a guide.
Choose between the classic and toll routes to Chichen Itza. Toll roads save 45 mins each way, require payment in pesos (not USD/cards), currently 585 Pesos (approx. $35.00 USD) each way. Tolls may change without notice.
Tip: Bring Mexican Pesos instead of Dollars. Bring Toll Road Fee in Pesos if you decide you want to take it.
Restrictions:
- Backpacks are not allowed inside Chichen Itza. To help keep the site safe and well preserved, visitors are encouraged to bring only essential items and use small bags instead.

We had the best time on our Private Chichen Itza tour. Our driver/tour guide was Ricardo. He spoke primarily Spanish; however, we were able to communicate effectively, and we had the most incredible time having lunch and stopping at the Cenote/shops with his guidance. Ricardo also introduced us to our private tour guide at Chichen Itza, who had prepared pre-paid tickets (allowing us to skip the line) and get right into the tour. All around, we had a great day and feel very lucky to have been introduced to Ricardo and Victor (the tour guide at Chichen Itza). We hope to cross paths again! Thank you for the wonderful experience!! Additionally, the support leading up to the experience (via WhatsApp) was great and put my nerves at ease as I was planning and coordinating this trip for a large group of my family.
