COZUMEL MANATEE DISCOVERY

One of the strangest creatures in the sea has to be the manatee.  Called "Mermaids of the Sea" by early explorers, manatees are also known as sea cows for their slow movements, large size (up to 13 feet long and 1300 lbs!) and grazing on sea grass.  Manatees are rarely seen in the wild, and are an endangered species.  However, with our Manatee Encounter, you'll have an opportunity to get up close and personal with our manatees and interact with them in the water.

Manatee Encounter Highlights

Free entrance to famous Chankanaab Park, where you can enjoy the beach and snorkeling before and/or after your dolphin swim (park hours 9AM - 5PM).

Feed the manatees, get a kiss and a hug, and feel their special skin!

After the swim, purchase a keepsake photo of you with your manatee, or a video of your actual manatee experience to remember forever!

When: Three Times Daily Except Sundays at 10:00 AM, 2:00 PM and 3:30 PM

Where: Taxi to the Dolphin Center at Chankanaab National Park on Cozumel.

How Long: Manatee Encounter is 45 Minutes.  You can use the park facilities all day - 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Observers:  Non-participants will need to pay the entrance fee to Chankanaab Park at the gate.  Entrance fees are $21.00 for adults and $14 for kids.

Kids:  Ages 8 and up.  Must be at least 3' 11" tall.  Kids prices apply to kids 3' 11" to 4' 7" tall.  Kids must be accompanied by a paying adult.  Kids over 4' 7" tall are considered adults and can swim by themselves.
